これは、サンタさんがいるかというニューヨークの女の子がサンという新聞社に聞いた話です。
で、これが今ではニューヨークタイムズの有名な社説というのに変更されてる。
調べてみたら事実サン紙の社説であり、その後ＮＹタイムスも載せてるみたいです。
僕はこのお話を、小学生の時にどなた様からか、聞いた記憶があったのです。
当時の僕は、子供ですから( ﾟдﾟ)ﾎﾟｶｰﾝ という感じだった（難しかった）のですけど、
ものすんごく心に残るお話だったのです。
それは、当時、日曜学校というのがはやりまして、日曜日にキリストの教会に行ってたのです。
別にキリスト教に憧れがあったわけでもなく、みんなが行くから行ってただけです。
そこで、聖書（新約）のお話をいろいろ聞いてクリスマスがキリストのお祝いみたいだと知りますた。
毎年同じ時期に同じ話になるから、３年くらいで飽きたんですけど、
キリストの教えというか、言いたい事はそれなりに理解したように思います。
で、キリスト（神様）は、ほんとにいたのか？という疑問がとてもあったのです。
聖書によると、マリア様の妊娠（当時は子供のつくり方を知らないのでさらに不思議だった）も
なんじゃらほい？でしたし、何もかもが現実に起きたとは思えなかったからです。
まあ、リアルな感性を持った小学生ですね（笑）でも、ウルトラマンはいるんじゃないかと思ってたな。
で、神様はいるのか？と、大人の人に聞いて回っていたわけです。
そこで、この話をされた。そして、よくわからないながらもなんか感動したような。。。
ちなみに、聖書は一度全部読んだ事があります。
結果、僕は現実には神様はいないという結論にいたるんですけど、
僕の心の中にはいるという矛盾した結論になったわけです。それは、思いやりであり、
愛おしいと思う気持ち、慈悲の心なんだろうと思うようになってきたからです。
ある意味、貧乏な家庭に育ってよかったと思える。いい境遇だったな～と！
僕はステキな人達（いろんな）によって育てられたと思う。

They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptial age.
They do not believe except what they see.
They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds.

In this great universe of ours man is a mere insect, an ant, in
his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him,
as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge
Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly
as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that
they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy.
Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus.
It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS.
There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to
make tolerable this existence.
We should have no enjoyment,exception in sense and sight.
The eternal light with which childhoodfills the world would be extinguished. Not believe in Santa Claus!
You might as well not believe in fairies!
You might get your papato hire men to watch in all the chimneyss on Cristmas Eve to catch
Santa Claus, but even if they did not seen Santa Claus coming down,
what would that proved? Nobody sees Santa Clause, but there is no
sign that there is no Santa Claus.
The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see.
Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn?
Of course not, but that's no proof that they are no there.
Nobody can concieve or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseachable in the world. You may tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongrst man, nor event the united
stregth of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart.
Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain
and view and picture the supernant beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real?
Ah. VIRGUNIA, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.
No Santa Claus! Thank Good! he lives, and he lives foerver.
A thousand years from now, VITRGINIA, nay, ten times ten thousand years
from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

まあ信教の自由ですからどこの宗教でも入りたい人は入ればいいんですが 勧誘の仕方に問題があるすぎると思います。布教と勧誘は分けないと！ 僕も宗教論で断ったのですけど彼らは意外と教義やらがわかってないんですよ（おいおい！）アメリカの新聞社が昔、サンタさんはあなたの心の中にいますという社説を書いたんですが、僕は自分の中にある良心を信じてるからね（にこにこ）ほんと他の神様はいらないな！ 2005/9/23(金) 午前 1:53 [ toranosuke4you ]

僕も子供の頃、地球儀をつくってる会社（マヒナだったと思う）に、お手紙を出した事があります。
どれだけ探しても、プエルトリコという国がのってなかったからです。
そのときに、ヤクザな親父に聞いたら、地球儀の会社に聞けとあっさりいわれた。
なんでプエルトリコなのかというと、ボクシングのつおい人がいて、
ちょうど地球儀買ってもらったあとだったから調べたけど、わかんなかったからです。
そしたら、その会社から大変丁寧なご返事をいただいて、僕はものすんごく感動した。
結局、その地球儀はちいさすぎてのってなかったんだけど、地図と場所とかを書いたものを送ってくれた。きっと、このヴァージニアと同じくらいな出来事だった。
それは、新聞社の社説というみんなの目にふれるものと、
地球儀をつくってる会社でみんなの目にふれなかったというだけで
僕の中では、ものすんごく価値ある出来事であったという事です。
子供にとって、こういう出来事は、一生の思い出になるし感動
